After all, I was Amadeus back in my chat room days

I am listening to my absolute favourite musician in the universe, of all time, of my entire existence: Mozart. He really carries me away when I'm feeling iffy.

Which I was (feeling), this morning - a powerful urge to drink came over me.

A spree at Walmart quelled it. I went in to buy a new alarm clock (a battery-operated $5 model, good in power outages) and left with a 4-disk "collector's edition" box, beautifully packaged, of selected Mozart hits. And a few other things, $94 worth of other things in fact, albeit all useful and necessary. I passed on the impulse to buy throw pillows, although I really want some for my couches. I resisted jewelry and frozen pizza and fabric cabbage roses and even a paint-by-numbers kit. (I would actually love to do one of those soon... adored them as a kid.)

When it comes down to it, I really just like spending money.

Better than drinking, I figure.

Shopping is infinitely better than drinking, or smoking.

The only drawback ever to the shopping thing seems to be that the availability of money never coincides with the love of shopping, does it?
Me thinks we need to do something about that!

Mozart is lovely, but 4 discs? I don't know... I'd have to break that up with a little Rachmaninoff, myself. ;)

DJ: Why don't you suggest some Rachmaninoff to me? Keep in mind it must be melodious and not brusque.
